“The Family Clinic”-Gujarat State Family
Physicians` Forum and Ahmedabad Medical Association has launched a public
awareness campaign from Sunday, 16th August at all major public places of
Ahmedabad about recent outbreak of HINI Influenza going on in our country.
The idea is to educate public, remove there
fear and impart them with scientific knowledge about the subject.
About a team of 25 family physicians of
city will interact with public regarding this disease. At different places.
On first day of programme on Sunday, the
doctors have visited this many places and about total 1500-2000 people get
informed about the current situation. The places visited were
1. Parimal garden
2. Prahaladnagar Garden
3. Ankur Garden,
Naranpura
4. Pragatinagar Garden-132ft ring road
5. Uttam Nagar Garden-Maninagar
6. Pushpakunj-Kankaria
7. Auda Garden-Satadhar, Nr.Sun n step club
8. Senior Citizen Club-Chandkheda.
There were concerned students who were
studying outside Gujarat; Business mans who
are frequent travelers, senior citizens, mothers who were apprehensive and
concerned about the situation. We have provided them the latest outbreak
situation, teach preventive measures like hand hygiene and cough etiquette etc,
dispel their myths.
In the coming days, the places that we will
be going are,

2. Vastrapur Lake
Garden
3. ONGC Ground-chandkheda
4. Maniyasha-Maninagar East.
5. Atira-Nr.IIM, satellite
6. Cept university
The family clinics doctors will be visiting
different schools in nearby and educate students and staff about this H1N1
influenza outbreak.
We are also distributing pamphlets to
patients who are visiting about 70 family clinics across Ahmedabad.We are
planning to distribute about 5 lakh pamphlets for public awareness. The family
clinic as known is recently launched in Ahmedabad is a chain of family
physician’s clinics run by qualified allopathic doctors, under a common brand name “The Family Clinic”-under the
banner of Gujarat State Family Physician’s Forum
